About Us
Founded in 2014, the Pre-Physician Assistant Club at UCLA aims to promote the Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) profession to undergraduate students by raising awareness of this emerging field, facilitating professional development, and offering preparation for graduate school.
The club provides a variety of opportunities such as networking events, a mentorship program, suturing workshops, community service opportunities, campus tours, and an array of guest speakers (practicing PAs, PA students, and PA school admission representatives).

Please join us during our general meetings held bi-weekly on odd week Tuesdays from 6-7PM. Come out and meet other aspiring physician assistants and learn more about this exciting profession!

Co-President
Julia Le
Hi everyone! My name is Julia, and I am thrilled to be serving as co-president again this year! I am a 4th year Human Biology & Society major with a love for women’s health and teaching. I’ve held a wide range of PCE jobs such as physical therapy aide, medical assistant, and EMT so please reach out if you ever have questions as I'd love to help answer them! Some fun facts about me: I went to a culinary arts high school, I’m a part of the UCLA Club Gymnastics team, and I love collecting and trading houseplants!

Co-President
Pauline Vuong
Hey everyone! My name is Pauline, and I am also one of the co-Presidents this year! I’m a 4th year Human Bio & Society major, and I chose this major because of my special interest of integrating cultural humility into regular healthcare practices and my passion of advocating for quality care for all patients. A lot of my PCE centers around volunteer work for the underserved such as the unhoused or refugee populations both locally and internationally, so feel free to connect if you’d like to chat more about this! In my free time, I really enjoy making and trying new foods or drinks, exploring new cities, and soaking up the sun in any outdoor activity. Regardless of where you are in your pre-PA path, just know I’m rooting for you and always here to support you–feel free to reach out anytime! <3

I’m Lena and I'm super excited to be one of the co-outreach directors this year :) I’m a 3rd year Psychobiology major and have been a COPE Health Scholar for over a year, shifting in departments such as Emergency, Ortho-Surg, & Maternity. I hold a leadership position in this program as one of the Training Coordinators which has allowed me to become a better educator, something I will carry with me when treating future patients. If anyone has questions about the program feel free to approach me! Some of my hobbies include baking, trying new food spots, & enjoying walks around nature.

Hello everyone! My name is Gustavo, and I'm excited to be this year's co-volunteer coordinator. I am currently a fourth-year Biology major with a passion for life sciences and psychology. I've had brief experiences in PCE roles such as PT aide, and most recently, EMT. Feel free to reach out with any questions about these experiences. A fun fact about me is that I have over 10 years of experience in farming and agriculture, coming from a small farm town. Ironically, I enjoy gardening, and I make the best burgers in Southern California.

Volunteer Coordinator
Veronica Espinoza
Hey guys! My name is Veronica and I’m so excited to serve as one of your Volunteer Co-directors for this year! I am a 3rd year Psychobiology major and Global Health minor with a passion for serving underserved communities and women’s health. Although I have not held PCE jobs yet, I have volunteered at a variety of health clinics hosted by other clubs on campus, volunteered for Cedar Sinai’s TCAB program and would like to be EMT certified by next summer! Some fun facts about me is that I’ve gone to 5+ concerts and I enjoy visiting new places and hanging out with friends! Due to my low-income background, I do intend on taking some gap years before I apply for PA school so please reach out if you have any questions about navigating the pre-pa pathway as a low-income student!

I intend to fulfill my PCE during gap years so I’ve been investing in volunteer experiences throughout college such as social coaching for neurodivergent individuals with the PEERS clinic, serving on short-term missions trips to Skid Row, volunteering homeless outreach with Salvation Army in Santa Monica, teaching at English Camps Schools in Taiwan and leading in churches' children’s ministries. I’m also serving as Core Coordinator for Asian American Christian Fellowship and a member of a local church, so if you’d like to chat about the intersection between faith, medicine, and mental health, feel free to reach out!
